Résumé

The behaviour of thermoacoustic waves in a helium-filled standing-wave prime mover is numerically studied. The thermoacoustic equations have developed for the calculation of time-average energy fluxes for devices operating at low pressure amplitudes. The authors present details for a thermoacoustic calculation method, shooting target method, for standing-wave heat engine. A large thermoacoustic engine is studied as a case study. It shows that the code can run well for most operating conditions of interests and the output whatever results the user is interested in, typically temperature, pressure amplitude, impedance, and acoustic power at various location, and operating frequency.
