Résumé

Cryoimmunotherapy provides the ability for the destruction of the primary tumour and tumour cells beyond the freezing site, i.e. metastases. Nonetheless, cryoimmunotherapy, while provocative, remains anecdotal to other forms of therapy for the treatment of cancer. With several concerns for its successful application, early observations of the enhancement of experimentally-induced tumours following cryosurgery have plagued its acceptance. Herein the current status and prospect for cryoimmunotherapy is examined in light of the re-evaluation of studies, which initially placed it within an unfavorable light.
