Sources de chaleur géothermiques alternatives, pompes à chaleur et leurs applications.

Alternative geothermal heating sources, heat pumps and their application.

Résumé

Many papers have been written in recent year on the use of the ground as a source of heat energy. The papers have focussed on heat pumps that can be used more efficiently if ground heat energy can be accessed by the evaporator. This technology though has a drawback in that it is often difficult to access this heat. Complications can arise technically as well as financially. However, there are some areas of ground source heat which are significantly easier to access but remain largely unexplored. One possible heat source could be a ventilation shaft, operating in exhaust on an underground railway. The low grade heat energy that is provided here is significant all year round and could be used to improve COP of heat pumps by up to 50%. This paper uses a typical system case study to demonstrate this and show the potential carbon and energy savings that would result.
