Résumé

Desiccant dehumidification systems driven by low-temperature waste heat are energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The article deals with features of the solid desiccant process and adsorption material as well as energy savings, indoor air quality and comfort. In supermarkets, low-temperature zone, the so-called 'cold aisle' remains in front of refrigerated display cases. The desiccant system eliminates the cold aisle and also reduces frost forming on refrigerated display cases and frozen products. The desiccant system contributes to a dehumidified, cleaner, more comfortable environment in supermarkets. As the Japanese climate conditions in summer consist of relatively high temperatures and high humidity, desiccant technology should be a key for optimum air conditioning.
