Résumé

The desiccant rotor with the organic sorbent has high adsorption ability in comparison with the rotor applying conventional adsorbent such as silica gel or zeolite. The organic sorbent can be recovered at low temperature level. This paper deals with a new hybrid system combining a desiccant rotor with a vapor compression refrigerator. First of all, humid air is cooled and dried by the evaporator of the refrigerator and then it is dried further by the desiccant rotor. The rotor can be recovered by exhaust heat of the condenser of the refrigerator. Its temperature is about 50°C, therefore the independent driving of the system is possible without other heat sources. Applying the new hybrid system, we installed an experimental prototype and investigated its performance. As a result, absolute humidity 0.002 kg/kg' is obtained if the processing air flow rate is less than 1.0 m3/min for the humidification driving in winter. Furthermore, dehumidification efficiency about 4.0 kg/kWh and COP of the system about 2.0 in summer mode were obtained.
