Résumé

The remarkable trend of the modern technologies is reduction of the energy intensity of production processes and energy flows recuperation that is determined by resources conservation, limiting of greenhouse gas emissions related to fossil fuels combustion, which remain the leading source of energy in the world. Many industries consume a lot of process steam and, in most of cases, require significant cooling capacities. Simultaneous heating and cooling generation in the dual-purpose highly efficient thermally driven system became a key point of the studies performed by the consortium of the V.S. Martynovsky Institute of Refrigeration, Cryogenic Technologies and Eco Energetics and WILSON/SRTC. In this paper authors suggested an innovative solution based on a hybrid of the Ejector Heat Pump (EHP) and the Ejector Refrigeration System (ERS), connected functionally by the generator-condenser in the cascade cycle. In this case, the driving force can be any secondary or waste heat of technological processes, solar, geothermal or any other middle/low-grade heat sources. The advantage of this system is its higher performance in heating and cooling modes that is 1.5 - 3.5 times higher than each operating individually.
