Résumé

Microchannels are increasingly being used to yield compact geometries for heat transfer in a wide variety of applications. Microchannel heat exchangers present several advantages, such as reduced size, higher thermal efficiency and low fluid inventory. Recent tests performed at the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, for Sapa Heat Transfer on air-cooled condensers showed an increase in thermal capacity of up to 50%, and 70% reduction on refrigerant charge, as compared to traditional heat exchangers. Additionally, coil weight was reduced to one fifth.
