Résumé

The effects of the heat flux, mass flux, vapour quality and saturation temperature of R134a on the measured condensation heat transfer and pressure drop were examined in detail. The condensation heat transfer coefficient averaging over the entire quality range tested in the paper for the small pipe (2 mm) is about 10% higher than for the large pipe (8 mm). The condensation heat transfer coefficient is also higher at a lower heat flux, at a lower saturation temperature and at a higher mass flux. The measured pressure drop is higher for raising the mass flux but lower for raising the heat flux. Empirical correlation equations were proposed. The results are useful in designing more compact and effective condensers.
