Transferts de chaleur et de masse : plaques verticales, air humide et convection naturelle.

Coupled heat and mass transfer of humid air in natural convection between vertical plates.

Résumé

The study examines energy transport associated with liquid film condensation or evaporation in natural convection flows driven by differences in density due to temperature and concentration gradients. The most common compositional gradient which is encountered in humid air is considered. A steady, laminar, Boussinesq flow of an ideal gas-vapour mixture is studied for the case of a vertical open plane channel. The influence of the species interdiffusion due to enthalpy difference between air and water vapour is considered first in the case of evaporation. It is shown that the species interdiffusion term has to be taken into account even at moderate temperature differences. The study investigates also wall condensation of humid air.
