Transport and magnetic properties of Pr-Sr-Mn-O single crystal and its magnetocaloric ability.

Résumé

Measurements of DC magnetization, AC susceptibility and Hall effect of Pr-Sr-Mn-O single crystal are reported. The various features are discussed in terms of competing electronic, spin and orbital ordering phase transitions. The temperature dependence of the magnetic entropy change is calculated in order to unveil the ability of the compound to be used for magnetic refrigeration.
