Résumé

From the results in this article, it can be concluded that for an adiabatic capillary tube at inlet subcool levels less than approximately 5.6 °C there can be significant variation in measured mass flow rate, which is caused by variation in the flash point location and thereby the metastable liquid region length. Fortunately, modifying the capillary tube can control the flash point location. Once controlled, an accurate prediction of the metastable liquid region length is potentially possible and will, in turn, improve the accuracy of theoretical flow models used to simulate capillary tube performance.
