Un deuxième thermomètre en tant que norme de transfert de température entre 0,7 jusqu'à 0,01 K.

A second sound thermometer as a temperature transfer standard from 0.7 down to 0.01 K.

Résumé

The Institut National de Métrologie du Bureau National de Métrologie (BNM-INM) develops for metrological applications below 0.7 K a new type of thermometer, based on the properties of sound propagation in dilute solutions of helium 3 in superfluid helium 4: the second sound thermometer. This instrument has been extensively studied using the helium 3 melting curve thermometer, down to 20 mK. The low temperature group of the Institut de Physique Nucléaire (IPN) in Orsay, France, has shown a high interest in the possibility to use a BNM-INM second sound thermometer to transfer the PLTS-2000 (provisional low temperature scale). To that end, a BNM-INM second sound thermometer has been installed in the IPN dilution refrigerator. The paper presents the experimental results obtained there, particularly below 20 mK.
