Résumé

The central purpose of this research is to develop a new desiccant-based energy recovery system, featuring integrated system design and analysis, as a dedicated outdoor air system for effective humidity control. This paper describes the results of an experimental investigation of the optimal thermal cycle times for air humidification and dehumidification. The amount of humidification can be increased up to 32% (3 minutes/cycle) under constant air and heat source conditions (TOA 5°C, 3.3 g/kg(DA), TRA 20°C, 6.0 g/kg(DA), air flow rate 0.167 kg/s, Thot water 60 ºC, Tcold water 15°C, water flow rate 0.5 kg/s, constant). Dehumidification can be increased up to 19% (4 minutes/cycle), compared to a thermal cycle time of 6 minutes (TOA 5°C, 3.3 g/kg(DA), TRA 20°C, 6.0 g/kg(DA), air flow rate 0.167 kg/s, Thot water 60°C, Tcold water 15°C, water flow rate 0.5 kg/s, constant). An optimal thermal cycle time of 4 minutes is obtained for both the absorption and desorption processes, and the system performance improved with an increasing quantity of inflow heat. The experimental investigation results make efficient use of the basic data from the numerical analysis model.
