Résumé

The pressure leakage characteristics of a desiccant rotor through air seal have been investigated. This problem is of particular interest in the design of desiccant cooling systems. The leakage airflow rate is measured using a tracer gas method for various pressure difference and air seal clearance. The air leakage velocity is defined as a parameter to make a correlation between the leakage airflow rate and pressure difference. It is found that as the pressure difference and clearance increase, the leakage airflow rate increases, and the air leakage velocity can be correlated as a function of pressure difference. A correlation equation for leakage airflow rate is obtained combining area of clearance and pressure difference. Using this equation, leakage model for desiccant rotor is developed. And through comparison with result of experiment, the accuracy of leakage model is verified.
