Résumé

This paper deals with theoretical analysis of the operation of a two-phase vapour-liquid injector as a liquid pump in refrigeration systems. A close attention was paid to the possible application of such an injector in ejection systems. In this case the refrigeration system could operate as a fully thermal-driven cycle, i.e. without consumption of electric power. Theoretical model of the vapour-liquid injector is proposed based on mass, energy and momentum balances for parts of the injector. The theoretical analysis of the operation of the injector is presented for the case of isobutane as a working fluid. The effects of liquid-phase subcooling at suction and vapour generation temperatures on the performance and geometry of the injector were studied. It was shown that the optimum parameters exist for the injector operation.
