Utilisation d'une cuve d'eau souterraine comme puits thermique.
Use of underground water tank as heat sink.

Résumé
This paper discusses the use of a water cooled condenser for split air conditioners used in an apartment complex. Water is drawn from the overhead tank of the building, used for cooling the condenser and then sent into the underground tank of the building complex. Due to the very large capacity of the underground tank and also due to daily use of water for domestic purpose, the temperature of the water in the tank does not increase. There is no need for a separate pump to pump the water up to the building water tank since the domestic water pump of the building would handle this task. In effect the underground tank becomes the sink to reject heat. A 1.5 TR split air conditioner was modified to incorporate a water cooled condenser and it was installed with necessary instrumentation to study its performance. The water needed for cooling of condenser was taken from the overhead tank of the building and the exit from the condenser was let into the underground tank. Testing of the system resulted in a EER (W/W) of nearly 3.8, which when compared with the best five star rated air conditioner (rated by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Government of India) with EER of 3.1 shows a reduction of nearly 18% even after accounting for energy use for pumping water to overhead tank.
