Résumé

The attenuation of pressure pulsation is an important issue in air, gas and refrigeration installations due to noise generation and its influence on compressor power and reliability. In modern refrigeration systems, variable rotational speed of the compressor makes this task even more demanding. The application of specially shaped nozzles enables pressure pulsation reduction without significantly increasing the flow resistance. The key issue is the selection of nozzles of appropriate shapes and dimensions in order to achieve both effects. A simplified theoretical method based on the transmittance approach is presented in this paper. The simulation results are compared with experimental pressure pulsation measurements taken in the discharge pipe of a screw compressor.
