Résumé

This paper presents the design and validation of the numerical model for a novel high-frequency regenerator, the Hypereg, for efficient thermomagnetic energy generation. Hypereg addresses common limitations, such as low efficiency, hydraulic losses, fluid mixing, and poor scalability, by utilizing multiple parallel regenerators rather than the traditional in-series configuration. This device employs parallel plates and four perpendicular uni-directional heat exchangers. This configuration enables modular scalability and shorter fluid travel distances, allowing for higher operating frequencies, due to a lower hydraulic loss, which, combined with efficient heat exchange, and lower exergy losses, mitigates low system efficiency. A 3D numerical model was developed using Ansys Fluent and validated against an experimental prototype. This paper details the validation process and the primary configuration of the device, demonstrating the model's accuracy in predicting thermal performance and fluid distribution.
