Résumé

The falling film liquid desiccant system is a promising type for liquid/gas contacting. However, the incomplete wetting was found in many previous studies, and the value is difficult to predict. In this paper, with a single channel internally heated regenerator, the influencing factors of the wetted area were experimentally investigated. The increase of wetted area benefits the mass transfer greatly. The thickness of solution distributor showed the greatest effect on the wetted area. In incomplete wetting conditions, the wetted area increased with the mass flow rate of solution proportionally. The effects of solution temperature and concentration were small, and the impacts of air and water could be neglected. Based on the experimental results, a model was developed, for predicting the wetted area of the falling film. The results obtained by this model were compared with experimental results, showing an average error of 8.74%. This research is useful for both researchers and engineers, and could effectively improve the accuracy of simulations.
