China’s new national standard
- China's new national standard for the minimum allowable energy efficiency levels related to room air conditioners officially entered into force on March 1, 2005. This standard classifies household appliances into five grades according to their power rating and stipulates that the minimum allowable EER values must be 2.3-2.6. - The State Environmental Protection Administration of China recently announced that China - the current world's largest CFC-producing and consuming country - will totally phase out CFC production by 2010.
