With its refrigerated transportation segment gaining momentum, the cold chain market in Europe is expected to grow at a Compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 12% between 2015 and 2019.
Western Europe occupies a major portion of the European cold chain market accounting for almost 70% of the market share, and is expected to reach over USD 42 billion by 2019, followed by Southern and Eastern Europe. A strong economic environment and augmented global trade are predominantly driving the cold chain market in this region. The key contributors to the cold chain market in this region are France, Italy, the UK and Greece.
The top six vendors in the market include Bring Frigo, Gruppo Marconi, Kloosterboer, MUK Logistik, Nichirei Logistics and Partner Logistics. Currently, these vendors operate with a warehousing capacity of over 10 million cubic meters.
