Le marché des appareils frigorifiques domestiques au Brésil (en anglais)

En raison de l'augmentation de la taxe sur les produits industriels (IPI), le marché des équipements frigorifiques domestiques devrait connaître une croissance moins élevée que prévue.
On 1 February 2013 the Brazilian government began to gradually increase IPI (Tax on Industrialised Products) on fridges, fridge-freezers and freezers, from 5% to 7.5%. The category was supposed to return to its original tax of 15% on 1 July, but the government once again postponed the measure, increasing the IPI from 7.5% to 8.5% at the end of December.

Due to the increase in IPI during 2013, and certainly in 2014, refrigeration appliances is expected to see a lower growth rate over the forecast period than over the review period, increasing by a CAGR of 5% in volume terms.

In 2013 Whirlpool remained the leader in refrigeration appliances with a 44% volume share, thanks to the success and different positioning of its two brands, Brastemp and Consul.
