New Zealand’s 2nd transcritical CO2 supermarket has opened its doors
In less than one month, two New Zealand supermarkets featuring transcritical (TC) CO2 refrigeration technology have opened.
In less than one month, two New Zealand supermarkets featuring transcritical (TC) CO2 refrigeration technology have opened. The Foodstuffs store at Newlands, Wellington, will enable a performance comparison of the CO2-only system with a hybrid (CO2/R134a) cascade system installed at another Foodstuffs store nearby operating under the same climatic conditions.
Preliminary simulations of the two systems indicate that the performance of the transcritical CO2 plant is 8% more efficient than the hybrid plant.
