Fallstreak holes are a stunning and very rare natural phenomenon. Last November, a Reddit user shared an incredible picture showing one of these wonders of nature in the skies over eastern Victoria, Australia.

This astonishing phenomenon is caused when ice crystals form quickly form from supercooled water, causing both the crystals and surrounding water droplets to suddenly evaporate, leaving a hole in the cloud. According to meteorologists, a passing aircraft is a "reasonable explanation" for this formation.
