Ateliers : La durabilité et la chaîne du froid
Hybrid workshops focused on the cold chain at ICCC 2020
Several workshops will be organised on Wednesday 26th August 2020 as a part of the 6th IIR International Conference on Sustainability and the Cold Chain (ICCC 2020).
These workshops are free, and you can participate either online or in-person.

-
Cold Chain in Hot Countries (13:00 - 14:30 CEST)
This workshop will focus on the recent statements by Mr. António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, calling on all countries to develop national cooling action plans to deliver efficient and sustainable cooling and bring essential life‑preserving services like vaccines and safe food to all people, and to implement concrete and enhanced actions from industry.
- Towards Energy Efficient and HFC-free Domestic, Commercial and Retail Refrigeration in Article 5 Countries (15:00 - 16:30 CEST)
Hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), and supported by the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program (K-CEP) will present energy efficient and HFC-free options for the retail refrigeration sector and a decision-making tree for developing countries.
The decision-making tree will focus on the decision points supported by four different actors; supermarket managers, maintenance service providers, technology providers and consultants.
- CoolFish Project (15:00-17:00 CEST)
CoolFish is a Norwegian research and innovation project which will develop technologies and concepts for more integrated, energy-efficient and climate friendly cooling, freezing and heating onboard fishing vessels. It will also increase the knowledge transfer between research and industry, both nationally and internationally.
- Cryogenic Energy Storage for Renewable Refrigeration and Power Supply (15:00 - 17:30 CEST)
Find out about the opportunities, drivers and barriers to sustainability in cold stores in this workshop with speakers who are international experts in the integration of sustainable working practices, energy system structures, policies and cold store efficiency.
