A Peterborough, la poste britannique (Royal Mail) adopte un système de cogénération répondant à tous ses besoins énergétiques.

Air CHP as a total energy system for Royal Mail.

Auteurs : KNOWLES J.

Résumé

In 1995, Royal Mail Anglia installed their first air CHP (Combined Heat and Power) system, at the new Mail Centre at Peterborough. Designed to provide 95-90% of the building power needs, all of the air heating needs of the Sorting Hall, and low temperature heated water, the system is also required to provide an uninterrupted power supply in the event of mains failure. With the advent of more sophisticated mail sorting machines which require closer control of the environment, the opportunity to integrate air cooling with the air CHP system, using heat to drive absorption chillers, has been introduced. The result is an energy system which satisfies every energy need of the building in which it is installed.
