Résumé

A system analysis has been performed in order to investigate the effect of the use of hydrate slurry as coolants for the absorber in an absorption chiller instead of water. The heat and mass balance equation set on a single-effect absorption chiller and lithium bromide thin film model are applied to the present analysis. From the results, it is found that the volume of the absorber with hydrate slurry coolants becomes much smaller than that in the case of water coolants. Especially, in the low concentration region of the dense lithium bromide solution, the volume of the absorber becomes half. It is concluded that the latent heat transportation with hydrate slurry is markedly effective for making the absorber compact.
