Résumé

The number of installed ice slurry plants has been increasing over the last years but until now the ice slurry generation process is limiting a wider application. A reason for that fact might be the problems still existing with ice adhesion at the heat exchanger surface in almost every ice slurry production process. The polarity of a surface, the surface roughness and the temperature gradient between the bulk fluid and the heat exchanger surface were found in the relevant literature as the main parameters influencing ice adhesion. Furthermore dependencies were found with the contact angle with water, the cooling rate, the additive concentration and other factors. Some of these results shall be adapted to ice slurry generators and the expertise shall be expanded. Therefore an experimental setup was built which allows testing the ice adhesion behaviour during ice slurry production and the achievable supercooling on different heat exchanger surfaces.
