Résumé

This study presents the experimental data on boiling heat transfer coefficient (HTC) and critical heat flux (CHF) of looped thermosyphon for cooling the heat dissipated from semiconductor devices. Test boiling surfaces on an evaporator were fabricated microstructures by plus laser to promote boiling on the surfaces. In this experiment, surface microstructures were fabricated line-hatched, cross-hatched, and porous structures and investigated their effects on boiling enhancement. Test boiling surfaces with microstructures were increased surface capillary force compared to the untreated reference test boiling surface (bare). Test boiling surfaces with cross-hatched exhibited 14 times higher capillary surface force than the bare surface. CHF of cross-hatched surfaces proportional to the surface capillary force. However, CHF of line-hatched with smaller surface capillary force was unexpectedly high comparing to that of cross-hatched. For more
enhancement of CHF, the ease of departure bubble from fine grooves is needed for surface microstructure.
