Résumé

In the simultaneous cooling of multiple heat sources, multi-evaporator two-phase thermosyphon loops (TPTLs) often encounter unreasonable flow rate distribution during operation, resulting in local hotspots and deteriorated heat transfer. To address this issue, this paper established an experimental platform for a multi-evaporator CO2 TPTL, incorporating valves in each branch. The study investigated the local operating characteristics and analyzed the improvement in flow rate distribution and heat transfer performance of the TPTL through branch valve adjustments. Under non-uniform load conditions, reducing the valve opening of the evaporator branch with a smaller load increased the flow rate in other branches by 5 % to 10 %, thereby mitigating local over heating. When a no-load evaporator was present, closing the valve of the no-load branch significantly increased the flow rate of the other loaded evaporators by approximately 30 % to 40 %, thus improving their operating states and resolving overheating issues. Branch valve regulation can effectively reduce thermal resistance of the TPTL by improving the flow distribution, without requirement for additional energy consumption.
