Analyse comparative de diverses approches de modélisation pour les dynamiques des soupapes de petits compresseurs à piston.

Comparative analysis of different modelling approaches for valve dynamics of small reciprocating compressors.

Résumé

The dynamics of reed valves of small reciprocating compressors is controlled by the pressure difference between the cylinder and the suction/discharge chamber, established by the piston motion. This paper reports three-dimensional numerical simulations of a small reciprocating compressor with two different approaches to model the valve dynamics. One of them assumes the reeds are parallel to the valve seat and solves their dynamics by using a single-degree-of-freedom model. In the second procedure, a finite element methodology is applied to evaluate the actual reed deformation during its opening. In both approaches, the valve dynamics and the time dependent flow field through the valves are coupled and solved simultaneously. Experimental data for p-V diagram, valve displacement and pressure pulsation in the suction chamber are used to assess the accuracy of each strategy.
