Résumé

Throttle cavitation commonly happens due to the local pressure below saturation pressure of the fluid when it flows over a throttle element. That situation brings not only a great effect, but also a large measure error which makes the precision of orifice meter dropping sharply. To solve this problem, in this paper, the affections on the developing trend of cavitation caused by fluid flow parameters(mass flux, inlet pressure, and subcooling degree) and geometry property of orifice plate(aperture ratio) are discussed. According to the working principle of the orifice meter, the theoretical measuring results are gained by the single-phase design equations of pressure difference flowmeter. Under the condition of uniform pressure difference between two sides of orifice meter, the errors between cavitating simulation results and theoretical results with single-phase will be increased gradually with the growing of cavitation.
