Résumé

Hybrid heat pumps, which combine the vapour compression and absorption heat pump cycle, can efficiently be used to produce hot water of 80-90°C from the low temperature around 50°C. In this study, the performance of a hybrid heat pump (HHP) is compared with a conventional vapour compression heat pump (VCHP) using the engineering equation solver. At the same operation condition, the HHP showed about 17% higher COP than the VCHP because of the more effective heat transfer using temperature glide in the absorber and desorber. Moreover, the maximum pressure of the HHP is about 1/3 of that of the VCHP. The COPs of both systems are increased with the increase of UA-values. The heat output of the HHP is also increased as the UA-values are increased. However, that of the VCHP is rather decreased.
