Résumé

Since the first commissioning in 2005, EAST cryogenic system has been put into operation for eight physics experimental campaigns. The infrastructure of EAST cryogenic control system is an extension based on a distributed control system. The redundant controllers communicate with field instrumentation and devices in three subsystems: the compressor station, 2 kW/4.5 K helium refrigerator and cryogenic distribution system. In order to avoid the destruction by heat stress, the temperature differences between the cooling channels inlet and outlet of the superconducting magnets and thermal shields are rigorously controlled not exceeding 50 K during cool-down from room temperature to 80 K. In case of system malfunction, emergency sequence programs are executed to protect the cryogenic system. This paper analyzes the operational performance of EAST cryogenic control system during cool-down, steady-state operation, and the case of emergencies such as coil quench based on the eight experimental operations.
