Résumé

The capsule in ICF has a nonuniform temperature distribution natively resulting from the columnar hohlraum geometry, and it can be improved by an external directional infrared radiation which can be absorbed by fuel layer so that the capsule low temperature area will be heated locally. A three-dimensional directional infrared photothermal-coupling numerical model has been developed to study the temperature characteristics of cryogenic targets. Verification between the experiment and the simulation has been conducted which shows that the numerical model has been of great accuracy to simulate the temperature distribution along the capsule. By using this photothermal-coupling numerical model and based on NIF cryogenic target size, the results indicate that the number of optical fibers has a dramatic influence on temperature characteristics of the capsule. The increasement of optical fibers number has positive effect on the improvement of temperature uniformity of the capsule. The maximum temperature difference of the capsule outer surface decreases from 0.258 mK corresponding to the situation without external directional inferred radiation to 0.158 mK corresponding to that with 4 optical fibers, which expounds a significant improvement of capsule temperature uniformity has reached with 4 optical fibers. The maximum temperature difference with 6 optical fibers decreases to 0.096 mK which has met the ignition standard. Meanwhile, the power of single optical fiber also affects the temperature characteristics. As the power of an optical fiber increases, the temperature uniformity of the capsule rises firstly and then falls so that a maximal uniformity value exists.
