Résumé

The aim of this work is to show an experimental analysis of a CO2 transcritical cycle when a reduced cost modification is implemented. This modification is only applicable to refrigeration plants with an expansion process stepped at least in two stages and with a refrigerant liquid receiver placed between stages. Taking an experimental facility with IHX as reference, the modification allows us extract saturated vapor from liquid reciver in order to (1) decrease the evaporator inlet vapour quality (reducing at the same time the enthalpy at evaporator inlet), and (2) reduce the total superheating at suction line by means of expanding and injecting the vapour extracted. Three different injection points have been tested: before the IHX, after the IHX and just before the suction chamber of the compressor. Results show a slight improve of the cooling capacity and COP (9.81 % and 7.01 % respectively), and an important reduction of the compressor discharge temperature (15.44°C) for the studied ranges.
