Analyse selon le second principe et modélisation d'une machine frigorifique munie d'un compresseur refroidi par circulation d'eau.

Second-law analysis and modelling of an ammonia refrigeration unit using a water-cooled compressor.

Résumé

The first aim of the paper was to propose and validate a new model for the water-cooled compressor of an ammonia refrigeration plant. This model was then used together with a model of the other components of a basic idealized refrigeration circuit. As the fluid properties at the compressor discharge (i.e. condenser inlet) are highly linked to the heat removed by the cooling water, the condenser behaviour depends on the compressor cooling efficiency. Hence, the condenser model takes into account the existence of three zones (desuperheating, condensation and subcooling). From these models, the influence of the compressor cooling water mass flow rate on the refrigerating unit performances is pointed out. The COP slightly increases with increasing the water flow rate. Moreover, the entropy generation in the refrigerating machine was evaluated and it was shown that there exists an optimum cooling water flow rate that makes it possible to minimize the entropy generation for the whole machine.
