Résumé

The objective of this work is to contribute to the development of absorption heat pumps using CO2/Methanol as working fluid. A thermodynamic analysis of a feasible transcritical single-effect absorption cycle is performed to evaluate the potential of this type of new mixtures to provide heating and cooling. For the proper modelling of the thermodynamic properties of the CO2/Methanol mixture is done a validation against the experimental Pxy data from the literature between -20°C and 200°C, PR-BM is selected as the most suitable thermodynamic property model and it is implemented in the process simulator Aspen Hysys to calculate the cycle performance. The results show a promising potential for the use of these CO2/Methanol absorption systems as energy distributed systems for the efficient use of waste or renewable heat at about 100-140°C. The working conditions suggested so far in the patent literature could not be the optimal.
