Résumé

The CO2 application for refrigerating cycles is a growing market due to its environmental friendly characteristics. However using CO2 as a refrigerant has some disadvantages. The main disadvantage is relatively low critical temperature of the refrigerant. The application of one stage transcritical compression cycle is commonly used, however this causes decrease of the COP and therefore higher energy consumption. The subcritical compression cycle requires to low temperature of the condenser cooling, to use ambient air or water. The common solution is to use two stage systems in which upper stage compressor cycle the refrigerant with higher critical temperature is used. In this paper the theoretical analysis of the possibility to use of sorption system as the upper cycle with water as working fluid will be shown. This gives the possibility to use renewable energy sources for the first stage, and then the CO2 second stage cycle can be kept under the critical point which is important for COP. In both cycles environmental friendly working fluids are used: the first stage water, second stage CO2. The technological design of the system which will be set up in our laboratory will be shown, together with simulated results for all thermodynamic parameters, COP, power requirements as well as the requirements for cooling water etc. The results will be compared to the classical one stage and two stage compression CO2 cycles.
