Application d’un nouveau caloduc pulsé à structure tridimensionnelle pour éliminer les problèmes de circulation de chaleur interne dans les batteries de véhicule électrique.
Application of a novel three-dimensional structure pulsating heat pipe to relieve internal heat bottlenecks in EV batteries.
Résumé
This study investigated the feasibility of a three-dimensional pulsating heat pipe (3D PHP) structure designed to overcome the directional limitations of heat transfer inherent in conventional pulsating heat pipes (PHPs). In this research, a 3D PHP was created by connecting the upper and lower parts of five simple PHPs. The analysis was conducted under two conditions: a constant heat input condition where each of the five heat pipes received an identical amount of heat, and a different heat input condition simulating a thermal management scenario with stacked heat-generating components, where central hot spots occur. Under the constant heat input condition, the thermal resistance and evaporator temperature decreased across all heating levels compared to a single loop PHP, with maximum reductions of 14.7% in thermal resistance and 6.7°C in evaporator temperature. Whereas the different heat input conditions, the thermal resistance and evaporator temperatures increased in the peripheral PHPs with lower heating, and it decreased in the central PHPs with higher heat outputs. Consequently, the study suggests that the 3D PHP structure may alleviate the problem of central thermal bottleneck phenomena in stacked component configurations and is more effective than traditional PHP-based thermal management systems.
