Application et efficacité énergétique des refroidisseurs intermédiaires dans les installations frigorifiques à ammoniac à compression biétagés.

Application and energy efficiency of intercoolers in ammonia two-stage compression refrigerating plants.

Résumé

A survey of the energy efficiencies of public refrigerated warehouses was conducted in the United States and Canada. The survey utilized a questionnaire. Both shell-and-coil and flash-type intercoolers were found to be used in the two-stage refrigerating plants surveyed, with shell-and-coil intercoolers making up approximately 60%. All plants were found to be functioning well. Although it was recognized that, in theory, a two-stage cycle with flash-type intercoolers has a higher efficiency than that with shell-and-coil type intercoolers, the application of flash-type intercoolers was ignored in China for a long period. Results from a further survey in China show that may be due to the control techniques required for the intercooler as well as familiarity with older designs. The conclusion drawn is that, with current techniques, there should be no barrier to the application of flash-type intercoolers, and therefore flash-type intercoolers should be adopted for two-stage compression systems in new installations, in order to improve energy efficiency.
