Résumé

Sound velocity of fluid is an important thermodynamic parameter. The existing literature shows there is a lack of sound velocity data in vapour-liquid phase region. This paper presents the calculation of sound velocity for the adiabatic two-phase flow of refrigerant through capillary tube based on homogenous equilibrium model. The finite difference method was used to obtain the sound velocity according to the definition of sound velocity and Martin-Hou equation of state. The sound velocities of three refrigerants, R22, R134a, R600a, have been calculated in this paper. The calculation results have been validated by published experimental data with an error band of 4%.The results were also compared with values solved by an analytic function of sound velocity and it shows fair agreement. The calculated sound velocities were analyzed. It shows the sound velocity increases with the entropy at the same pressure. On the isentropic curve it firstly increases and then decreases.
