Résumé

Osteoblast progenitor cells (OBPCS) derived from bone marrow have the ability to differentiate into osteoblasts. They are thus valuable in tissue engineering. This study investigated a cryopreservation method used for OBPCS. The OBPCS were stored in liquid nitrogen for 7 days. This method did not affect osteoblastic differentiation or the ability of the cells to proliferate. The authors conclude that cryopreserved bone marrow cells could be used for tissue-engineering purposes in the same manner as fresh cells.
