Caractéristiques de fonctionnement des cycles de refroidisseurs au CO2 avec un système détendeur-compresseur.

Operating characteristics of CO2 chiller cycles with expander-compressor unit.

Auteurs : KOHSOKABE H., FUNAKOSHI S., TOJO K., et al.

Résumé

The authors studied the transcritical CO2 refrigeration cycle with an expander to improve the COP of the cycle of a simple expansion valve by recovering the throttling loss. They also developed an expander-compressor unit. A scroll type expander and a rolling-piston-type rotary subcompressor were adopted and connected them with a crankshaft. With this unit, the authors made a CO2 refrigeration cycle for a small capacity air-cooled heat pump chiller, and investigated the operating characteristics of the cycle. The expander-compressor unit was stable in the experiments by varying the operating parameters (ambient temperature, inlet water temperature, and compressor rotational speed) and could control the CO2 refrigeration cycle. The test results indicated that the COP improvement in the CO2 chiller cycle was more than 30% over the basic transcritical CO2 cycle under both cooling and heating conditions. Expander compressor units represent a key technology for use in CO2 refrigeration systems.
