Caractéristiques de la distribution de l’écoulement diphasique d’un collecteur vertical avec des tuyauteries de dérivation en saillie.

Two‐phase flow distribution characteristics of a vertical header with protruded branch pipes.

Résumé

In recent years, refrigeration and air‐conditioning equipment has become increasingly equipped with smaller diameter tubes (paths) and multiple paths in order to reduce the amount of refrigerant in the heat exchanger and improve performance in line with stricter regulations aimed at reducing greenhouse gases. The development of a vertical header distributor characterized by a simple structure and low cost is particularly important. In this paper, we clarify the basic refrigerant distribution characteristics of a vertical header‐type distributor with branch pipes protruding into the main pipe and quantify the effect of flow resistance in the branch pipes connected downstream of the header in an experimental system installed in an outdoor unit of a multi‐type air conditioner for buildings to reproduce top‐flow‐type air flow.
