Résumé

Cooling characteristics of a high efficiency refrigerated vehicle system for sliced-raw fish transportation are presented in this paper. The refrigeration system that is powered by the car engine was equipped with thermobank thermal storage for shorter cooling and reverse cycle-hot gas defrost. The stored heat was used during defrost cycle of the system. The thermal storage has size 400 (L) x 350 (W) x 250 (H) mm made of fin-tube and cooper tube heat exchanger with 2 row x 4 circuits. The experiment was built to compare the performance of the system that using thermal storage materials, water and paraffin. The system performance and container operating conditions were experimentally investigated and analyzed under cooling and defrosting conditions. Water provides about 50% shorter time than that by paraffin in cool-down time of thermal storage material.
