These proceedings contain the 52 papers of this congress, held in Maribor, Slovenia, May 9-11, 1998. Extract from the table of contents: energy, environment and economics (i.e., Kyoto Protocol, energy consumption, air pollution, non-ionizing radiation); HVAC application in domestic and commercial buildings; HVAC design and computer software; renewable energy sources and transmission systems; general and HVAC system control (i.e., cogeneration of power and heat, heat pumps as part of total energy system). Some of the papers will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin. Also available in a CD-ROM version.
