Commercialisation de modules frigorifiques à composés complexes.

Commercialization of complex-compound refrigeration modules.

Résumé

Solid-vapour absorption refrigeration using ammoniated complex compounds is an attractive alternative to vapour compression and aqua ammonia Platen Munters cycles for consumer appliances with relatively low refrigeration capacities (10 to 150 watts). The inherent large refrigeration holding capacity of complex compounds results in high power density. Sorber designs providing long life and enhanced heat and mass transfer rates contribute to the compact size and cost effectiveness. System architectures using ammonia to cool the sorber also enhance simplicity and low cost. Prototypes have demonstrated durability and true freezer capability of small systems. Laboratory development of the technology for some applications is essentially complete; design-for-manufacture and certification of a manufacturing company as an original equipment manufacturer to licensees are the next commercialization steps.
