Résumé

As a new solid adsorbent for adsorption chillers a high-density activated carbon fiber (HDACF) added small amounts of polytetrafluoroethylene was prepared by mechanical compression. Experimental results showed HDACF with larger apparent density more rapidly adsorbed a larger amount of methanol vapor. The numerical analyses of methanol adsorption kinetics were performed based on one-dimensional model. The calculated results of methanol adsorption uptake and surface temperature of HDACF roughly agreed with the experimental results. The adsorption uptake was found to be closely associated with the heat transfer rate in the HDACF.
