Conception, architecture et expérimentation d’un système de surveillance basé sur l’application SCADA pour l’installation cryogénique SST-1 et son système de distribution.

Design, architecture and testing of SCADA-based alarm monitoring system for the SST-1 cryogenic plant and distribution system.

Résumé

At the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), the SST-1 Tokamak Machine is supported by an extensive cryogenic subsystems, including the 1.3 kW at 4.5 K helium refrigerator/liquefier (HRL) plant, liquid nitrogen (LN2) distribution system, integrated flow distribution and control system (IFDCS), current feeder system (CFS), and 80K booster system. Each subsystem is controlled via Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. A centralized alarm monitoring system, developed using Wonderware SCADA, plays a critical role in operational safety. It monitors key process parameters across subsystems, providing real-time alerts through audible alarms and visual indicators during abnormal events. Communication between the alarm monitoring system and the SCADA systems of the cryogenic subsystems is managed through Operations Information (OI) Gateway configurations. The alarm system demonstrated its reliability and responsiveness during the SST-1 plasma experiment campaign, ensuring the safe operation of the cryogenic systems and avoiding costly downtime.
